Somewhere to live on site, built to last
Portable accommodation puts a bedroom, a kitchenette and a bathroom in a unit that arrives on a truck and is ready to live in once it is levelled and connected. Ours run from a single studio to a four-bedroom bunkhouse, and are built on a steel skid from EPS-FR panel in our Keilor Park facility.
Every unit is built to move but made to last. Durable vinyl floors, built-in storage and certified hardwired electricals come as standard, and the fitout is yours to shape: split system air conditioning, a cooktop with rangehood and oven, kitchen cabinetry, wood-look vinyl, glass sliding doors, coloured panels, verandahs and wardrobes are all options.
Studios are usually in the yard. Bunkhouses and anything larger are built to order, so tell us what the site needs and we will quote it.

Donga accommodation, price and inclusions
Donga prices vary with what is included and how long the unit is needed for. Standard layouts from our stock range are the most cost-effective; once the fitout is tailored, the price adjusts to suit.
The price is mainly shaped by the size of the unit, the internal layout and any extras such as air conditioning, a bathroom or a kitchenette. Base pricing covers the features most sites need, with options to add more depending on how the space will be used.
Delivery, site access and set-up requirements such as levelling or joining a multi-section building also play a part. We do not have formal display units, but there are usually studio-style buildings in the yard that show the layout and finish standard we work to.
Two and three bedroom dongas
A studio suits one person. For a couple, a family or a small crew, a two- or three-bedroom unit keeps everyone under one roof with a shared living area, kitchen and bathroom. We are working on designs and pricing for both, a 9.6m x 4.8m two-bedroom unit and a 10.0m x 6.0m three-bedroom unit, and neither is in the standard range yet. Ask us where they are up to.
Layouts are yours to set: where the bedrooms sit, whether the bathroom is shared or each room has an ensuite, how much of the floor goes to living space. Tell us who is living there and for how long and we will draw it up.
Workers and mining camp accommodation
For a remote site the building has to arrive complete, sit on rough ground and stand up to hard use. Our accommodation is built on a steel skid, insulated with EPS-FR panel and wired for plug-in power, so it can be placed, levelled and connected without a builder on site. Bunkhouses sleep four to a unit; put several side by side with a lunchroom and an ablution block and you have a camp.
Waste storage tanks of 2,000, 4,000 or 6,000 litres sit under the building where there is no sewer connection, and every unit ships with its electrical and plumbing certificates.
Living in a portable building long term
Our accommodation is built for short and long term use alike. Where a unit is to be lived in permanently and needs to comply with Class 1A building standards, the adaptations required should be confirmed with a building surveyor first; once they are, we review them with our team and quote the build. You will need to check with your local council whether a permit applies, and we can arrange the structural engineering and Section J energy reports that most permit applications ask for. See our permit guide for the detail.
Questions we are asked about accommodation
Does it come with heating and cooling? Split system air conditioning is an option on every unit and provides both.
Can it have a laundry? Not in the standard designs, but we can fit laundry provisions to order.
Can I get phone and internet? Yes. We install data points, and your electrician can convert one to a TV aerial point.
Are pets allowed? The building does not mind. Whether your site does is between you and the site.
More in the FAQ.

Tell us what you need
Send through what the job needs and we will come back with options and a price. If you are not sure whether to buy or hire, say so, that is a normal question and we will tell you which way suits.
- A real person reads this, usually the same day
- Buy or hire, priced side by side if you want both
- Delivery, install and pickup quoted with the building
